Star Swimmer Graduates

Let's celebrate!! Kensley graduated from swimming level Baby 1 to Baby 2! I had no idea they were passing her today (Nov. 21) so it was a surprise for both of us. The lesson was carrying on in its' usual routine as the teacher took Kensley and prepared her for the independent swim towards me, about fifteen feet away. Purple and yellow goggles on her eyes, giant blue fins on her little feet, she took a deep breath as we sang Fishees in the ocean, fishees in the sea, Kensley swims to mommy on 1, 2, 3! She tucked her chin into her chest, dunked her head under water and ferociously kicked her feet and wiggled her arms swimming to my open arms in ten seconds. I raised her up above my head, twirling and cheering; so very proud of my little star swimmer. The teacher and I gave her huge 'high fives' and her smile was as big as ever. The teacher then said if Kensley's second independent swim was the same and she's able to hold onto the wall by herself for ten seconds she would graduate her to the next level. Sure enough she met all requirements. She climbed out of the pool and was given a loud bell to ring in front of everyone as a sign of graduation and celebration. The bell chimed, everyone clapped and sang hooray and she stood there soaking it all in with a giant grin. It was a special moment for our little girl; a big achievement and I couldn't be more proud.
