When Ellie passed back in April we talked about getting a new dog but we weren't sure if the timing was right and whether or not we were ready to endure the struggles of training a new puppy. We made a deposit and got on the waiting list for a Red Lab just in case, not knowing when the breeder would have one available. Months went by without further discussion. Then Friday, September 14, Matt calls on his way home and tells me to put Ace outside and have Kensley wait on the couch. Initially I thought it was strange but then part of me had a feeling he was bringing a new puppy home. Turns out my intuition was correct. He opened the door and in runs an adorable, pudgy red lab with floppy ears, sweet eyes and huge paws...a sign that he will be extremely big one day. Kensley's eyes lit up and she smiled from ear to ear as the little guy pounced around the house. Later we brought Ace back in and he was certainly portraying the Alpha Male, and he continues to do so. Our puppy, Cash, is the sweetest thing I love him so much! Throughout each day he is my little shadow, following me around wherever I go and Ace will also tag along just to make sure that I'm okay. Kensley loves it when he chases her as she runs from room to room and she likes playing tug-of-war with him. She is definitely not fond of the fact that he will occasionally mistake one of her stuffed animals for his own, especially when he gets a hold of Dora, Diego or Boots....all better watch out when that happens! haha Be on the look out for more pictures to come. :)
